Vineyard Groot Constantia

Groot Constantia is located on the Cape Peninsula overlooking False Bay. The vineyards are located in a steep valley on the east side of Table Mountain. Thanks to the oceans on both sides, this area is blessed with a maritime climate. Groot Constantia produces a range of premium wines, and is one of South Africa's most visited tourist attractions.

Groot Constantia is synonymous with excellence in the wine industry and is a perfect example of the appreciation and preservation of cultural and historical heritage in South Africa.

Today the estate is owned by the Groot Constantia Trust, which is committed to preserving South Africa's oldest and most famous winery as a national monument.

Winemaker Boela Gerber found his way to Groot Constantia after six years in the wine industry. After graduating, he first spent some time on Stellenzicht under the wings of Andre van Rensburg (current winemaker at Vergelegen) and then spent some time at Rickety Bridge before starting his career at Groot Constantia.
