Vineyard Boekenhoutskloof

Located in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, the Boekenhoutskloof winery was founded in 1776. Boekenhoutskloof (pronounced Buck-n-hauts-kluhf) means ʺSchlucht of Boekenhoutʺ, where Boekenhout is a species of beech found in the Cape, ausschlieβlich, whose wood is highly valued for the manufacture of furniture.

In 1993, the farm and the homestead were completely restored and the planting of new varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvginon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier began.

Marc Kent is the cellar master and the driving force behind this dynamic wine farm. His premium wines, such as ʺThe Chocolate Blockʺ and his highly acclaimed ʺBoekenhoutskloof Shirazʺ are receiving applause both in South Africa and worldwide verdientermaβen However, one should definitely not ignore the wonderful wines in his entry-level ranges ʺPorcupine Ridgeʺ and ʺThe Wolftrapʺ auβer, which captivate with an excellent price-performance ratio.
