Excellent wines from Veritas
Top class wine awards
Veritas Awards is South Africa's longest-running and most prestigious wine competition, synonymous with excellence and excellence. The organisers, the South African National Wine Show Association (SANWSA), represent the entire spectrum of the industry and the Veritas Awards give due recognition to wines of the highest quality and the distinctive Veritas quality symbol serves as a binding quality guide for wine connoisseurs and wine lovers. Gold and Double Gold awards are also of significant value to the wine industry as they give a prestigious image to the wine, the winery and the winemaker himself, thus contributing significantly to sales growth. Veritas is the only wine competition in South Africa that is organised by the industry for the industry, with no commercial gain for the organisers.

Veritas assessment system
The Veritas judging system is described as one of the most sophisticated and comprehensive in the industry. The judges are drawn from across the wine industry and include oenologists, researchers, academics and trade representatives and are appointed in collaboration with relevant grape variety working groups. All members of the judging panel must hold a wine assessment certificate from the University of Stellenbosch, a Cape Wine Masters Diploma or similar accreditation. The wines are tasted blind by panels of seven experts. After extensive discussion, the judges agree on a score according to the international 20-point scale. The integrity of the Veritas Awards is beyond question and the entire judging process is overseen by independent assessors.
