Vineyard Beyerskloof
In 1988, one of South Africa's leading winemakers, Beyers Truter, partnered with four fanatical wine lovers from Johannesburg with the aim of creating wines with an extraordinary character. After carefully inspecting the Cape Winelands, they found a perfect location in the Stellenbosch wine region, a farm in the Koelenhof area. This farm has been in the hands of the Beyer family for six generations, so what could be more natural than to call it the Beyerskloof Farm.
The philosophy of the winery and winemaker Beyers Truter is to produce memorable wines, wines that are both enjoyable and fun. The development of the Pinotage grape is particularly close to the heart of the founder of the Pinotage cooperative, Beyers Truter. He can justifiably be called the South African Pinotage virtuoso. The sustainability of nature and social responsibility also have a high priority at Beyerskloof.
